The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the existing Tahoe vacancy. There is currently only one Administrative Technician position allocated to the Tahoe Area.
The North Lake Tahoe area is an outdoor recreation mecca, boasting numerous rivers, lakes, public parks, hiking and biking trails, and the greatest concentration of ski resorts in North America. Tahoe City sits on the shore of Lake Tahoe at the headwaters of the Truckee River (Lake Tahoe’s only outlet). This distinctive locale also has diverse education options, close-knit communities, and a small town feel with access to fine dining, shopping and myriad cultural activities
The current vacancy is located in the Placer County Administrative Center, 775 North Lake Blvd., Ste. 202, Tahoe City. This position will provide high level technical and administrative support to the County Executive Office which includes working and interacting with other departments and divisions within the County as well as other agencies, citizens and elected officials. Primary responsibilities include contract management and monitoring, accounting functions such as tracking/processing invoices, website content management, administration of a variety of databases, composing general correspondence, letters, reports, powerpoint presentations and charts on behalf of the department, ordering supplies, providing general customer service and other office operations. The ability to organize, schedule, prioritize, and balance multiple projects and priorities is essential.
To provide responsible para-professional administrative and technical assistance by coordinating, monitoring and reporting on various departmental activities of a routine and recurring nature; to perform administrative and technical work of assigned program area; and to review routine administrative requests related to area of assignment.
Receives direction from assigned management, professional or supervisory personnel.
May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned clerical staff.

Experience: Three years of responsible administrative clerical or technical experience preferably in the subject area to which assigned.
Training: Equivalent to completion of 60 units of college level course work including completion of the general education requirements leading to an Associate of Arts degree.
License or Certificate:
May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
NOTE: Relevant, equivalent experience (performing the same or similar job requiring similar knowledge, skills, and abilities) may be substituted for the required education as determined by the Human Resources Department.

Based upon responses to the supplemental questionnaire, the applicant’s education, training and experience will be evaluated using a pre-determined formula. Scores from this evaluation will determine applicant ranking and placement on the eligible list.
All applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be required to respond to an online Conviction History Questionnaire, which will be sent as a link on their notification that minimum qualifications have been met. Failure to respond to this questionnaire within (3) three calendar days of the minimum qualification notification will result in disqualification from the examination.
Prior to the date of hire, applicants must undergo a fingerprint test by the Department of Justice, pass a medical examination, which may include a drug screening and possibly a psychological evaluation, sign a constitutional oath and submit proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to remain and work in the U.S. For some positions, applicants may also be required to submit proof of age, undergo a background investigation and/or be bonded.
All new permanent employees, with the exception of sworn law enforcement and management, shall be required to join the employee organization or pay an 'Agency Fee' as a condition of employment.
The eligible list(s) resulting from this recruitment may be certified as a substitute list for a substantially similar classification. For this purpose, a substantially similar classification is one at a lower level in the same classification (example: entry level vs. journey) and/or a similar classification (similar work performed, similar training and experience qualifications required).
