Introduction
Placer County is recruiting for Lifeguards to serve the communities of Northern Placer County.
This is a Temporary/Extra Help assignment and is limited to 1000 hours (or 960 hours for CalPERS retired annuitants) in a fiscal year and are not eligible for benefits.

for the DUTCH FLAT POOL
$12.38 per hour
5 positions available
Work hours: 11:30 a.m. - 6:15 p.m. 7 days a week
This public swimming pool is located in beautiful Dutch Flat, 30 miles northeast of Auburn along Interstate 80. The pool opens in June 2014 and closes after Labor Day weekend (September 2, 2014).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (you must have all of the following):
Experience: None
Training: Completed your junior year of high school (11th grade)
License or Certificate:
- Possession of a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate or equivalent
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid CPR certificate or equivalent
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA)First Aid Certificate/Title 22 or equivalent
May also need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
Essential Duties: Maintain a constant vigil over patrons at the pool facility; rescue persons in distress. Maintain discipline & orderly conduct among the patrons and enforce all pool rules and regulations. Render first aid and CPR procedures. Clean rest rooms and dressing rooms; inform park supervisor of maintenance conditions and supply needs. May be required to collect fees for swimming pool use; maintain records and reports as required. May be required to direct and instruct swimming, lifesaving, and water safety classes. Perform related duties as assigned.
