BASIC PURPOSE

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for providing secretarial and administrative support to attorneys.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS

The Legal Secretary job family consists of three levels which are distinguished by the complexity of the job assignments, the extent of the responsibilities and duties assigned, the level of expertise required for the completion of assigned tasks, and the responsibility for the leadership of others.

Level III:   
This is the specialist level where employees will be expected to perform duties at all levels of complexity and may also train lower level employees. Employees will develop or assist in developing operations and procedures which ensure that files are tracked and deadlines met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level III:    
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of three years of experience performing a variety of complex clerical and typing work PLUS two year of experience as a legal secretary; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Selection Plan

Scores based on:  50% Written Test 50% Typing Test(The pass point is 50 words per minute)
