Job Summary: The Oklahoma Office of Attorney General is seeking a Finance Director who will be responsible for budgeting, accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and all other aspects of fiscal management for the Oklahoma Office of Attorney General. The Finance Director analyzes monthly expenditures and operations reports, and advises the Chief of Staff and the First Assistant Attorney General regarding fiscal policy and conditions. A successful candidate must have the proven ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines with few or no extensions. The Finance Director maintains financial statements, schedules, and statistical data for the Oklahoma Office of Attorney General. He/She is responsible for the maintenance of agency accounts, agency reports, preparation of invoices, office inventory, preparation of the annual budget to the legislature, as well as supervision, evaluation, and coaching of the Finance Staff.
Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelorís degree in accounting, finance, or a closely-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and government accounting experience and training, is required. Preference will be given to those that hold a Juris Doctorate. Applicants must have one to two years supervisory experience. Strong preference will be given to applicants with knowledge and utilization of the PeopleSoft (Oracle) Financial system and state government accounting procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
