The Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) - Communications Department is seeking an experienced Visual and Graphic Arts Designer. This is a full time, unclassified position in state government and will be eligible for a generous total rewards package. The Visual and Graphic Arts Designer will be responsible for successful completion of video, graphic arts, and publication projects for OMES. Will work with OMES business units to coordinate the appearance, layout, style, and readability of OMES publications, coordinate technical aspects of video production, and assist in the creation of professional graphic design elements. The Visual and Graphic Arts Designer needs to be highly innovative and understand each project's demographic, analyzing trends and paying close attention to what the competition is doing.

This position requires technical or associate degree in visual communications, design, graphic, or commercial art, or closely related field and 3 years of experience in producing projects such as brochures, signage, or other related work using digital technology; or 60 semester hours from a college or university with 12 semester hours in marketing, visual communications, mass communications, photography, advertising, or design and 2 years of experience in producing print media or other related  electronic media using digital technology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preference may be given to the following:
• Experience with publications and design packages and document creation software, including Adobe Creative Suite 5 or higher, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and the Microsoft Office Suite;
• Advanced skills in Premiere Pro; and
• Proficient skills in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Soundbooth, After Effects, and Magic Bullet Looks, or equivalent color grading software.

Annual Salary up to 42,500
