MAJOR DUTIES

  • Advocates for all Authority information security related issues including the planning and development of information security strategy in support of the Authority’s strategic plan.
  • Collaborates with key business and IT leaders to develop security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company's systems and data.
  • Ensures that IT complies with existing laws and regulations (e.g. HIPAA and PCI-DSS) and that the company's IT environment is secure.
  • Creates and implements a risk management framework to ensure the appropriate application of controls based on risk. Consults with business owners regarding their information security risks and responsibility in minimizing those risks.
  • Assists with and reviews IT related project specifications and RFPs by defining security requirements.
  • Develops information classification standards and procedures to appropriately manage information consistent with its data classification.
  • Oversees the Authority's Information Security Analysts.
  • Oversees incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches.
  • Establishes security awareness and training standards and oversees company-wide participation.
  • Works with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security audits, assessments, and intrusion and penetration testing.
  • Performs other related duties as required including periodic use of technical controls.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Note: Minimum Qualifications MUST be attained before the recruitment ending date.

 

A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of seven years of professional experience in the IT industry, to include knowledge and understanding in the areas of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), IT Operations, Data Center Operations, IT Project Management, vendor management, IT hardware and software acquisition, and IT auditing/compliance.  This experience must include a minimum of five years of experience in a security-related function of Information Technology, and some experience working in the Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). 


The hiring agency requires experience in preparing and presenting information effectively, clearly, and concisely, in written and spoken form to a wide-range of internal and external constituencies, including non-technical executives, product or service vendors, and middle-managers; and a strong understanding of data breach reporting laws, generally accepted information security principles, and accepted industry practices.  Certifications preferred include a valid Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification issued by ISC2; and a valid technical security certification such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or Security+.

EXAMINATION: Applicants must take and successfully pass a Data Entry skills test, as well as a written multiple choice exam in order to be placed on the eligibility list for this recruitment.
