Performs para-professional human resources support and/or supervisory duties in one or more areas of a human resources program.
Responds quickly and courteously to client employers and job applicants regarding the status of recruitments and candidate qualification.
In collaboration with the client employers, makes a decision on the appropriate approach to produce a list of qualified candidates: begin a new recruitment or forward candidates from a prior recruitment.
Reviews data from previous recruitments and works with client employer to develop or refine candidate profile, supplemental application questions, and selection plan.
Researches candidate sourcing options and prepares recruiting plans.
Executes recruiting plans by placing ads, searching databases, and “head hunting”.
In collaboration with client employers, creates and publishes job bulletins and supplemental questionnaires.
Updates applicant tracking system to record results of candidate evaluations.
Communicates promptly and accurately with job candidates about changes in status; strives to maintain the level of interest for top candidates.
Forwards employment applications of qualified candidates and corresponding evaluative information to hiring authorities.
Solicits feedback from client employers on the quality of candidates provided.
Documents activities, results, and lessons learned for each search.
Performs other related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of general office policies, procedures and practices.
- Working knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of administration, including County human resources law and rules.
- Working knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform accurate computations and verify data.
- Ability to use a computer and related software.
- Ability to evaluate applicant's information to determine qualifications.
- Ability to evaluate and complete personnel action requests to determine appropriateness of action and if action will achieve the desired organizational/staffing change.
- Ability to type may be required.
- Ability to supervise others.
Note: Minimum Qualifications MUST be attained before the recruitment ending date.
Graduation from a high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and
Two years of personnel support duties equivalent to Personnel Assistant to include one year of experience in high volume recruiting; and
A passing score on a written test; and
A passing score on a data entry test at 100 gross keystrokes per minute with 90% accuracy.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Administration, Business Management, Public Administration, or Social Behavioral Science; and
A passing score on a written test; and
A passing score on a data entry test at 100 keystrokes per minute with 90% accuracy.
Ideal candidate will possess a BA/BS and some experience in high volume recruiting.
