Summary Statement

The incumbent in this position is responsible for coordinating and providing administrative supervision of the daily operations of the Treatment Access Center (TASC) offices.   Work includes, reviewing referrals to the TASC offices to determine needs, appropriateness, and level of care; gathering information in order to assign and monitor cases through the case manager and file reviews.  The incumbent coordinates and participates in substance abuse/mental health services involving intake evaluations, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to community services.

  • Coordinates activities of all staff assigned to the clinic in order to ensure optimum use of professional personnel in the evaluation, treatment, and provision of services.
     
  • Reviews caseloads, work schedules, assignments and schedules of clinic staff in order to ensure continuity of client services.
     
  • Interprets agency policies, regulations and administrative directives for clinic staff; implements operating procedures; sets work priorities and ensures compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.
     
  • Acts as consultant with clinic staff and professionals from other agencies regarding referrals and mutual clients.
     
  • Assigns staff to act as liaisons with other state and private agencies to facilitate communications, referrals and other appropriate functions.
     
  • Participates in meetings with other agency interdisciplinary teams to foster knowledge of policies and procedures and/or to support other agencies in dealing with mutual or potential clients.
     
  • Modifies changes, resolves problems and reassures financial situations of clients regarding payment for services.
     
  • Orients and assists in training new clinic and/or community center personnel, regarding procedures and policies and monitors staff reports and progress notes to ensure consistency and accuracy.
     
  • May administer medications; order medications and stock supplies; dispense medications according to standing orders and under the direction of a physician.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Community Mental Health Center Site Supervisor 
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Three years experience in providing community mental health services such as client evaluation, treatment intervention and rehabilitation services.
  2. Three years experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  3. Six months experience in community resources which includes programs and services that assist with and improve life for individuals, families, and communities in the areas such as financial support, employment, unemployment, housing, health care, disease prevention, substance abuse, child protective services, physical/mental health treatment and prevention, or rehabilitation.
  4. Six months experience in narrative report writing.
  5. Six months experience in staff supervision of two or more employees which includes to plan, assign, review, discipline, recommend hire, promotion, termination and administer performance plans and reviews.

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
