Summary Statement

The incumbent will collect, receive, mark, sort, stack and inventory supplies, materials, equipment, parts or other articles. Duties include: distributing all needed supplies and materials, restocking supplies and materials weekly, adjusting, repairing, assembling or preparing products, supplies, equipment or other items. Operating a variety of equipment for the purpose of preparing, inspecting, weighing, evaluating, recording, marking or transporting supplies, materials and equipment, receive and distribute incoming supplies and packages for designated areas.

Essential Functions

  • Collects, receives, marks, sorts, stacks, distributes, and inventories supplies, materials, equipment, parts, or other articles.
     
  • Locates and selects material, supplies, tools, equipment, parts, or other articles from stockroom, warehouse, storage yard, or other related areas.
     
  • Adjusts, repairs, assembles, or prepares products, supplies, equipment, or other items according to specifications or customer requirements.
     
  • Operates a variety of equipment for the purpose of preparing, inspecting, weighing, evaluating, recording, marking, or transporting supplies, materials, equipment, or other articles.
     
  • Records type, quantity, value, or location of material, supplies, equipment or other articles received, shipped, used, or issued. 
     
  • Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, instruments, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations; ensures security of inventory. 

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Supply, Storage and Distribution Supervisor
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Two years experience in inventory control such as ordering, receiving, tracking, storing and handling inventory; disbursing materials, supplies and equipment. 
  2. One year experience in creating reports which includes combining and presenting data from multiple sources in an organized format.
  3. Six months experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
  4. Knowledge of staff supervision of two or more employees which includes to plan, assign, review, discipline, recommend hire, promotion, termination and administer performance plans and reviews.

Additional Posting Information

Applicants may only apply if they are current permanent employees of the State of Delware Department of Health & Social Services in a position covered by the Merit System who have completed their initial probationary period.

Conditions of Hire
