Summary Statement

The incumbent provides clinical screening, assessment, evaluation, treatment and counseling for sexually transmitted infections (STI).  Duties include: providing annual gynecological examinations and family planning services.  Incumbent will be traveling to clinic sites in Sussex County, and providing immunization services and Red Cross emergency shelter services as needed.

Selective Requirement

  1. Possession of a Delaware prescriptive authority or eligibility for Delaware prescriptive authority.

  • Provides or evaluates direct nursing care.
     
  • Develops, implements and/or reviews nursing care plans.
     
  • Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups and/or nursing home facilities in the management of their health care needs.
     
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team.
     
  • Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations and forms. 
     
  • Participates in and make recommendations regarding quality assurance activities. 

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Advanced Practice Nurse
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Possession of a Delaware Advanced Practice Nurse license or temporary permit for a Delaware Advanced Practice Nurse license in the specialty area of Nurse Practitioner.

Note:  Applicants qualifying based on a temporary license must have applied for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Delaware or hold a valid Delaware Registered Nurse license and have graduated from a Master’s or certificate advanced practice nurse program.  The applicant must obtain the temporary Advanced Practice Nurse license permit prior to hire date and then possess full licensure credentials within a two year, three month period.   To obtain full licensure, candidates must complete 1000 clock hours of training and/or pass the certifying exam for their clinical nursing specialty, if applicable.   

Conditions of Hire

Union:  As a condition of accepting employment, the person selected for this position shall join and pay dues to the labor organization or may, instead not join but pay a service fee no greater than the dues.  The labor organization has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other work related purposes.
