Summary Statement

This position is located on the main campus at Faulkland Road and may be utilized at Ferris, the Cleveland White School or New Castle County Detention Center. The incumbent will need the ability to work as part of a team and experience with a diverse adolescent population is preferred. Strong behavior management skills are also very important.

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner. Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position.

  • Administer assessments
  • Understand Individualized Education Program‘s(IEP)
  • Understand and follow lesson plans
  • Cover classes when teachers are absent
  • Collaborate effectively with staff during instructional time

Job Requirements

  1. Must have at least 60 college credits or an Associate Degree as required by No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Conditions of Hire

Pre-employment Drug Testing:  Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
