A class incumbent is responsible for supervising the work of counseling staff determining the classification of offenders entering and leaving the Correction System, overseeing the protective custody program, and functioning as the chairperson for classification committee meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Inmate Classification Officer II
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Applicants may only apply if they are current permanent employees of the State of Delaware Department of Correction in a position covered by the Merit System who have completed their initial probationary period.
Selected incumbent is eligible for Hazardous Duty Pay Level A, $2,320 upon completion of the basic Correctional Employee Initial Training (CEIT) course.
