SUMMARY STATEMENT

This position reports to the Assistant Director, Table Games and is responsible for the 24/7 table gaming inspection operations at the site of licensed video lottery agents statewide, overseeing the staff responsible for observing and inspecting table games, cages, count rooms, and surveillance activities and inspecting gaming equipment to determine legal, regulatory and procedural compliance.
  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.  Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.

  • Observes and verifies that rules of the table games are adhered to by casino employees and patrons.
     
  • Observes and ensures that regulations are being followed in the cage, count room, and surveillance operations.
     
  • Observes and ensures that the table drop is done properly and drop boxes are transported safely to the count room.
     
  • Observes and ensures that the table games soft count is properly accounted for.
      
  • Verifies table inventory discrepancies over one hundred dollars.
     
  • Inspects table game equipment and reserves; approves use prior to being used on the casino gaming floor.
     
  • Checks that gaming facility employees possess valid licenses and displays badges properly.
     
  • Documents patron complaints and disputes regarding application of rules and operation of games not resolved by casino staff.
     
  • Reviews gaming facility self reports of regulatory violations.
     
  • Interprets and applies applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
     
  • Maintains and updates records and logs and prepares a variety of reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Gaming Inspection Manager
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Experience in program evaluation which includes evaluating programs and services to identify problems, determine compliance and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency to ensure program goals and overall objectives are met. 
  2. Experience in ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  3. Experience in operations management which includes planning, directing, coordinating, controlling and evaluating operations typically through subordinate supervisors.
  4. Experience in establishing goals, objectives and priorities in accordance with an organizations overall mission.  
  5. Experience in developing policies or procedures.
