Summary Statement

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the review and analysis of all inpatient client stays within the hospital.   Work includes: reviewing admissions and continued stay, determining the appropriate use of clinical resources while eliminating barriers to client discharge.  The incumbent will be responsible for gathering data and producing reports to validate admissions, continued stays, internal and external client transfers and client discharges from the facility.

Selective Requirement

Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements.  Applicants who do not possess the selective requirement will not be qualified.

  1. Six months experience in conducting utilization reviews to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards in a health care facility.

  • Provides or evaluates direct nursing care.
     
  • Develops, implements and/or reviews nursing care plans.
     
  • Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups and/or nursing home facilities in the management of their health care needs.
     
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team.
     
  • Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations and forms. 
     
  • Participates in and make recommendations regarding quality assurance activities. 

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Nursing Supervisor
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. At least three years experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing OR a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing and at least two years experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing OR a Masters degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing.
  2. Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license.
  3. Knowledge of staff supervision which includes planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others.

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.

Pre-employment Drug Testing:  Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.

Union:  As a condition of accepting employment, the person selected for this position shall join and pay dues to the labor organization or may, instead not join but pay a service fee no greater than the dues.  The labor organization has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other work related purposes.
