City of Salem is looking for a professional administrator for the City's Municipal Court operations. The incumbent will plan, direct and review the activities and operations of the Municipal Court including non-judicial functions of the court system, personnel management, development and implementation of policy and procedures, budgeting, case-flow management, responding to public inquiries and record maintenance, coordinate activities with other divisions, departments and outside agencies and provides professional support to the presiding Judge and pro tempore judges.

Four or more years of progressive supervisory experience in court administration or in a related judicial field; bachelorís degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, judicial administration, business administration or a closely related field; or any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledge and abilities to do the essential functions of the job. Law Enforcement Data Systems Certification required and National Center for State Courts Certification or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of Fullcourt software is desirable.

Ability to plan, direct, manage and coordinate the activities of a municipal court operation, automated court systems,†and the work of subordinates;†prepare and administer the divisionís budget; conduct specialized studies and prepare complex reports; analyze problems, identify alternative solutions,†and implement recommendations;†demonstrate leadership and maintain effective working relationship with all professional and general public contacts;†communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and demonstrate experience managing multiple and changing priorities.
