INTRODUCTION

Note: Part-Time Exempt appointments are limited to less than 1,200 hours per calendar year.

JOB SUMMARY

This is responsible staff work involving graffiti abatement, evidence collection, documentation and public communication. The work also entails tracking and removal of graffiti within city limits; assistance with case investigations; regular public interaction with homeowners and business proprietors regarding the removal of graffiti; and completing special projects related to the needs of the Graffiti Abatement Program. Good customer service skills are essential; with both internal and external customers.

The listed job functions are illustrative of the classification level and not intended to list all duties typically assigned to this classification. Employees may do all or some of the listed duties, or other related duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be minimum 18 years of age, have High School diploma or G.E.D., able to work around chemicals and to participate in all training activities, including being sprayed with Oleoresin Capsicum (made from Cayenne Pepper), able to lift up to 60 pounds, and be comfortable walking on uneven terrain, able to work outdoors, in various weather conditions, and possess a valid Oregon Class C driver’s license and the ability to meet City's driving standards.

SELECTION PLAN

The application review and the interview will evaluate the following job-related knowledge and abilities: Knowledge of area of assignments and some understanding of issues involved; work independently and schedule time effectively after initial direction; work on ladders at various heights; climb, lift and carry heavy objects; operate painting equipment, hand and power tools; perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and physical labor for sustained periods; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, and the public; communicate effectively with the public; function successfully in a team environment; read, write, and communicate effectively in English; learn and operate various data entry and report writing systems; and perform data entry duties as required.
