JOB SUMMARY

This advanced clerical staff support position in the Police Department Support Division. The incumbent will be responsible for updating and maintaining all directives of the department, as well as finalizing letters for tenure; assisting with ride along program; maintaining all the department's lists and schedules and inputting information into PRIORS for reports; answering the telephone and assisting customers with questions and directing calls. The position may act as the back-up to Office Supervisor. Employees may be privy to information of a confidential nature involving financial, personnel, legal, law enforcement or development issues. Considerable public contact is involved and employees of this class are expected to employ skill and judgment during these contacts within established policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Considerable experience of a progressively responsible nature in secretarial and clerical work; graduation from high school including or supplemented by courses in secretarial science; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Qualified candidates who are bilingual in Spanish/English are encouraged to apply. You must possess the ability to pass a comprehensive personal history investigation.
