TYPICAL TASKS: Typical tasks are cause determinations related to
cooperation with the District Attorney’s Child Support Division, Fair
Hearings; recovery of overpaid benefits; Integrated Earnings Verification System
evaluations, special reviews mandated by Court orders, analysis of new or
revised regulations interviews of
applicants/recipients regarding sensitive matters or those who are in stressful
situations; analyze reports, fiscal and statistical data; create, organize,
revise, edit and coordinate publishing of technical documentation for department
and public use; develop, coordinate and conduct training; evaluate programs and
recommend changes in the delivery of social services; represent the county in
multi-agency and statewide committees and workgroups; conduct studies of complex
agency services, policies and procedures; measure program outcome; design tools
and techniques to assess needs and services; develop automation protocols;
gather data and produce detail oral, written and statistical reports; represent
the Department of Social Services in a quasi‑legal setting; provide
administrative support; investigate, mediate and resolve complaints.
Knowledge of: Policies laws, rules and regulations governing all social
service programs; and related automation systems; effective communication
techniques for interviewing and investigative questioning; basic knowledge of
