ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS AIDE-CONFIDENTIAL
This position performs a variety of duties in the evaluation, revision, design, and implementation of all types of computerized accounting systems; design, install, and maintain personal computer (PC) based applications; and do other related work as required.
Employees in this confidential classification contribute to the development or implementation of the County's employee relations policies and/or in the course of their duties have access to information relating to the County's administration of employer employee relations. Under State law and the County Employee Relations Policy, confidential employees have different rights of representation than those of other non-management employees.
Coordinates data processing and automation activities with information Services division (iSd) staff; installs and configures PC’s and automation hardware and software; maintains network security processes; participates in negotiations with labor organizations, studies impacts and implements contract changes; and may perform special accounting assignments, including entry of data and maintenance of a variety of databases.
This is an entry level para-professional position. Under direction, maintains PC based applications or smaller existing systems, and assist with systems work led by a senior member.
Accounting Systems Aide-Confidential: Basic capabilities and limitations of PC’s, PC hardware & software; current PC operating systems; and general principles of accounting system controls.
Accounting Systems Aide-Confidential: Install and maintain PC hardware and software; train other staff in automation applications; establish and maintain effective working relationships, and write and speak effectively.
Accounting Systems Aide-Confidential: Completion of three years of college, including a total of 12 semester units of which at least 8 semester units of business, finance, mathematics, statistics, and/or accounting courses; and the equivalent of at least 4 semester units of computer science and/or management information system courses.
