INTRODUCTION

1054 Technical Business Analyst

 

Apply to be part of the team that will change the City and County’s business systems for Payroll, Human Resources and Benefits Administration!  We are embarking on a project to replace multiple existing systems with a single integrated solution.  The City and County of San Francisco is launching an enterprise HRMS implementation project incorporating Workforce, Benefits, Learning Administration modules, Payroll, Time & Labor, Talent Acquisition, and self-service applications.  If you look forward to challenges and making changes for the City and County of San Francisco, apply for this exceptional opportunity!

The Principal Technical Business Analyst reports to the Development Team lead and is responsible for the technical design specifications for custom pages, menus, workflow, self-service components, scheduled batch jobs, portal items, reports and queries. This position also performs technical analysis of legacy system data structures, existing data interfaces, reports and user security. The incumbent will identify and evaluate all data interfaces across current City systems, determine on-going requirements, recommend design system integration or data interface options. Prioritize reporting requirements defined during the business analysis stage are analyzed for incorporation into the standard delivered report set, development of new customized versions, or recommendation for elimination. Based on security needs analysis the incumbent will design the user security groups, roles and permission lists. The position is also charged with code reviews, developing unit and system testing plans, and executing work plans for applying updates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain this would be:

• Over five years technical experience with PeopleSoft HCM modules, versions 8.8-9.0
• Technical design experience with PeopleTools 8.4x, Component Interfaces, Business Interlinks, Integration Broker, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Workflow, PeopleSoft Infrastructure, Process Scheduler, XML Publisher, PeopleSoft Query and SQ
• Solid experience in PeopleSoft HCM system and module functionality, fit/gap analysis, customization, and testing strategies

• Solid understanding of Oracle and SQL Server relational databases

• Interface and architecture knowledge, data security

• Structured design techniques, including data model

• Solid experience in writing technical design specifications

• Experience with data conversion from other HR/Payroll applications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in documenting and sharing technical information

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

DISASTER SERVICE WORKERS

BENEFITS

All employees hired on or after January 10, 2009 will be required (pursuant to San Francisco Charter Section A8.432) to contribute 2% of pre-tax compensation to fund retiree healthcare. In addition, most employees are required to make a member contribution towards retirement, typically a 7.5% of compensation.
