Data Entry Clerk

 

 

Principal responsibilities:  

 

 

 

 

  • Responsible for preparing and interpreting data to be entered.
  • Responsible for identifying, interpreting, and inputting consumer information into the appropriate database and/or program.
  • Keep track of received data documents.
  • Prepare and sort documents, identify and interpret data to be entered.
  • Contact originators of the documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
  • Enter alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from documents into computer following format displayed on screen, and enters necessary codes.
  • Make necessary corrections to information entered.
  • Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered.
  • Maintain record of completed work.
  • Review error reports and enter corrections.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local Laws and regulations relating to job duties.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide routine office support such as making copies, faxing, answering phones, prepares correspondence for mailing, and delivering and picking up correspondence.
  • Provide feedback to management concerning possible problems or areas of development.
  • Make recommendations to implement improved processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

 

Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate or equivalent in relevant work experience desired.

 

Experience: Previous clerical or data entry experience preferred.

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. When requested, ability to type 50 words per minute (WPM) required. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skils. Ability to work in a team-fostered environment. Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment. Ability to prioritize and organize work.
