Potential employment opportunities exist for:

CMM Operator

 

 

 

 

 Job Duties:

 
  • Create inspection programs for coordinate measuring machines.
  • Ensure the machine is properly working and calibrated through programming scripts, tests and production.
  • Write or edit programs for precision machinery; Brown & Sharp Software PC-DMIS.
  • Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements.
  • Operate precision machinery as needed.
  • Train inspectors on how to run CMM with limited operator interaction.
  • Set up and conduct capability studies to understand long-term feasibility of products.
  • Serve as point of contact for training staff of metrology issues.
  • Responsible for fixtures and new parts.
  • Provide measurement system analysis on parts.
  • Support design engineering on new development projects.
  • Be able to communicate effectively on deviations to specifications.
  • Provide support and clarification of specification/print reviews.

 

 Experience Required:

 

 

 

 

 

  • Two year technical degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of two years operating a CMM
  • Relevant certifications preferred, such as ASQ.
  • Experience in quality inspection.
  • Must be able to use appropriate programming.
  • Possess a working knowledge of statistics and data analysis, GD&T.
  • Must be highly skillful and responsible.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of three dimensional geometry, electronics and engineering.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environments.
  • Excellent data management and report making skills.
  • Must be capable of reading and interpreting the industry designs, manufacturing plans and product blueprints.
  • Knowledge in metrology.
  • Must be willing to travel to Alabama for training.
  • Must be willing to do other tasks as assigned during ramp-up phase(s), which may include installation of machinery, writing SOP’s, etc

 

 

 Starting wage is $17 - $19/h depending on experience.  Great opportunity for career growth.
