Maintenance Supervisor

 

 

 

 

Summary/Objective: The Maintenance Supervisor will hire, train, supervise, review and discipline employees in the maintenance department. Supervisors also ensure that all work ordered is completed on time and according to quality standards and that spending on supplies used to complete maintenance remains within budgetary constraints.

 

 

 

Essential Functions:                   

  • Proficient in maintaining injection molding equipment in optimal operating condition, identifying and resolving problems, and performing/tracking preventative and predictive maintenance activities effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to support the manufacturing personnel as needed, trouble shooting, repairing and training personnel in the proper use of equipment.
  • Troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, pneumatic, electric and PLC’s is required, along with ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Maintain systems for monitoring and tracking service requests, preventive maintenance work performed.
  • Works with maintenance staff to ensure that maintenance issues are dealt with in a timely manner and that proper follow-through is done.
  • Will be responsible for assuring proper inventory levels of required replacement parts.
  • Must follow all internal and manufacturer maintenance procedures, assist in process improvement changes.
  • Works with blueprints, wiring schematics, sketches, equipment service manuals, sample parts and general instructions.
  • General machining skills are required such as lathes, mills, welding a definite plus.
  • Schedules maintenance employees according to forecasted workloads.
  • Perform a broad range of supervisory responsibilities over others.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Follow all OSHA and safety rules and regulations.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by Officer(s).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:            

This is a Full-time position

6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., core work hours

Flexible hours to be available

Must be available to work weekends when requested from Supervisor.

 

Travel:            

Travel is expected for this position.

 

 

Requirements:            

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) in a related area preferred; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Minimum eight years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience in injection molding required.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, programmable controller problems. Experience with operating various machining equipment.
  • Communication skills, written and oral.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
