Production Team Leader

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure drawings or other special information required is forwarded to the shop floor when appropriate. 
  • Prioritize work to ensure efficiency and maintain service levels.
  • Provide technical assistance as needed. This may be related to interpreting drawings, assisting with technical needs related to testing, issues related to problems with equipment etc.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed and work areas are kept clean.
  • Assists with time studies.
  • Communicates with Sales Department with issues related to Sales orders
  • Serve as backup to the Production Supervisor Assist with tracking scrap for inventory purposes
  • Assists with raw material substitutions and changes
  • Assists with coordinating special/large projects
  • Manages Consumable inventory and submits purchase requisitions to procurement.
  • Assists with Management of production orders to the shop floor when needed.
  • Interfaces with production management to accurately manage short term labor capacity
  • Monitors and communicates with procurement to expedite RM shortages
  • Participate in the hiring and training of new production associates.
  • Assists Supervisor with Performance review process.
  • Works with Supervisor when appropriate to assist with performance management issues.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS  

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Working knowledge of the products, manufacturing processes and quality control procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings related to cable assemblies 
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Education

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience  

Physical Requirements

  • Physical demands:
    Moderate use of hand and wrists when typing information on keyboard and assembling product.  Must be able to twist, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.  Must be able to stand for long periods at a time.
  • Visual accommodation:
    Must be able to read written materials and instructions.  Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Hearing accommodation:
    Must be able to talk and hear in person and by telephone.
  • Working conditions:
    Employee works in a clean environment with little exposure to fumes and dust.

Interpersonal Skills Required

  • Ability to interact and provide guidance to others
