PA Solutions has a Junior Robot Programmer position available in its Greenville, SC office. This position requires a sharp mind, a sincere dedication, and hard work. Robot Programmers often work long hours in challenging environments with tight deadlines. Significant travel may be required. PA Solutions has an apprenticeship program available for entry level workers that have the ability to learn engineering concepts and terminology with introductory instruction and sustained guidance.
Relocation expenses are not allocated for this position and Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be local to the Greenville, SC office.
Job Description
This position is responsible for programming, troubleshooting, debugging, preparation, and support of industrial robots to customer specifications. Robot Programmers create programs and code from scratch; train customers and clients; and maintain, service, and repair robots as needed. Candidates may have experience programming any robots in an academic or real-world environment.
Responsibilities/Duties

Perform basic robot programming setup, changes, and troubleshooting

Set up I/O structure and robot start-up.

Teach robot path programs: Weld, Material Handling, Maintenance, Tip Dress Etc.

Review drawing package for correct interface, verify the interface matches application

Review and download OLP programs

Debug programs and verify all signals to and from the PLC
-
Identify PLC issues as related to the robot
-
Set up Binding Table / I/O and configure robot communication
-
Backup and secure PLC and Robot programs and parameters
-
Document all programming changes
-
Installation and configuration of appropriate hardware and software options
-
Perform electrical diagnosis, recommend repair or repair as needed

Provide on-going customer service
-
Provide support to assembly operators and plant skill trades about robots functionality
Job Skills and Requirements

Basic knowledge of at least one of the following robot systems: Fanuc, ABB, Kuka, and/or Nachi

Knowledge of communication setup with robot peripherals

Good understanding of mechanical systems

Ability to work as a team and/or alone on field assignments
-
Ability to read schematics and other drawings
-
Self-motivated and hands on approach
-
Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new processing developments

Follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Must be willing to travel at least 50 percent
Educational Requirements
Some college, technical, or trade school required. An associate’s degree or higher is highly preferred.
