Toray Carbon Fibers America, Inc. is the world's largest producer of PAN (polyacrylonitrile)-based carbon fibers; and is in the process of building a carbon fiber plant in Moore, SC. 

 

 

 

Potential employment opportunities exist for:

Mechanical Technicians

 

 

 

 Job Duties:

 

 

  • Perform preventive maintenance/lubrication for all mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process and in the HVAC system for the facility.
  • Perform mechanical equipment repairs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems as they occur.  As necessary, perform failure analysis and make recommendations.
  • Manage the spare part inventory for mechanical equipment.  
  • Forecast usage and order spare parts as required. As needed, weld parts and equipment to make appropriate repairs.
  • Must be able to handle physically demanding work and operate in a team environment.
  • May be requested to attend training in out of state location for at least two months.

 

 

 

 Requirements:

 


  • All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of similar or related experience is required. 
  • Related experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Equivalent to a college degree (non-technical discipline) or multi-craft skills acquired through extensive on-the-job training or apprenticeship programs or in-depth industry and job specific technician skills acquired through a combination of formal instruction and on-the-job training is required

Training will be at no charge to trainees. 

Successful completion of the training program carries no obligation to accept any offer of employment, nor is an offer guaranteed.

 

 Starting wage is $25.00 per hour with performance based progression until employee reaches top out rate of $31.99.
