Potential employment opportuntiies available for: 

CNC Set-Up Associates   

CNC Set-Up associates will be responsible for setting up, operating and troubleshooting Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) equipment which produce various components and products at Apex Tool Group. The incumbent will also be responsible for the grinding, broaching, etc. that is done in accordance to drawings, blueprints, production schedules, and templates.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with Team Leads and Supervisors to understand production needs
  • Set up, operate and troubleshoot CNC equipment to meet production standards
  • Change tooling and inserts in various CNC equipment as needed to perform changeovers
  • Zero out and make adjustments to CNC equipment as needed throughout production stages
  • Ensure machines are set up to meet product specification by reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Use measuring equipment and gauges to ensure produced parts meet specification
  • Occasionally make adjustments to the CNC program
  • Record data as it relates to productivity and first article inspections of parts run
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed in the respective work area
  • Other duties as required to successfully perform the job

 

Critical Skills & Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical equipment and preventative maintenance
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints at different levels within manufacture
  • Able to bend, twist, turn and squat when doing inspections and completing set-ups
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Apex Tool Group is a drug-free workplace

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification or Associate’s Degree in Machine Tool Technology or related discipline
  • Fanuc and Okuma controls experience
  • CNC Lathes & Mills experience
