M-E-C Company
M-E-C is an 80 year old multinational organization that designs, manufactures and services industrial dryer systems and heat energy units, bins, screens conveyors and pneumatic systems for the processing of a wide range of wet materials. The company’s market consists of forestry, agribusiness, food process, biomass energy and waste residuals industries. This organization is expanding its operations to the Charleston Area and is currently looking to fill the previously listed positions.
Potential employment opportunities exist for:
Design/Drafting Manager
Requirements:
-
Manage the (CAD) group in preparing 2D and 3D models, fabrication and assembly drawings
-
Provide overall direction and planning of all CAD related functions.
-
Provide supervision and mentoring to staff including instructions, training, and coaching.
-
Originate and implement CAD related procedures, policies and standards.
-
Delegate CAD work assignments, and set priorities.
-
Conduct design production meetings.
-
Support and coordinate with other engineering disciplines as needed regarding deadlines and submittals.
-
Provide technical support on projects.
-
Streamline CAD processes to ensure projects are done on time and within budgeted man-hours.
-
Monitor, control and approve work schedules and man-hours.
-
Review and verify all CAD work ensuring compliance to drawing specifications, customer specifications, and standard practices.
-
Maintain a skilled resource pool within group to meet the needs of the company.

Represent design department at all staff level meetings
-
Self-Check work for accuracy
-
Must meet deadlines
-
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a CAD supervisor
-
In depth knowledge of 3D drafting techniques used in the design of heavy fabricated products
-
Proficient in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor
-
Technical aptitude and ability to understand advanced engineering concepts
-
Proficient in developing 2D fabrication drawings from models
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Excellent time-management and organizational skills with high attention to detail
