M-E-C is an 80 year old multinational organization that designs, manufactures and services industrial dryer systems and heat energy units, bins, screens conveyors and pneumatic systems for the processing of a wide range of wet materials. The company’s market consists of forestry, agribusiness, food process, biomass energy and waste residuals industries. This organization is expanding its operations to the Charleston Area and is currently looking to fill the previously listed positions.

  

Potential employment opportunities exist for: 

CAD Operator I

 

Requirements:

  • Responsible for effectively executing fabrication, submittal, and/or installation drawings according to strict deadlines
  • Develop correct orthographic views of parts and assemblies
  • Utilize ANSI standards in every aspect of creating drawings
  • Develop accurate Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Utilize standard scaling methods
  • Create drawing files using paper space in AutoCAD or properly scaled drawings in model space
  • Understand the uses of drawing levels, reference files and CAD tools
  • Provide daily project updates to immediate supervisor
  • Report and escalate concerns to immediate supervisor as needed
  • Follow drawing release procedures
  • Follow document control procedures
  • Prepare drawings showing the detail indicating critical dimensions and fastening methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed
  • Self-Check work for accuracy
  • Meet strict deadlines
  • Develop detailed section, cut-away, and scaled detail views for intricate product definition
  • Requires minimum of 5 years’ experience and working knowledge of the terms and procedures of the steel fabrication industry
  • Make more complex revisions that are produced from sketches, computer models or specifications that clearly depict the desired product
  • Contribute to the company's overall success
  • Understand standardization of product lines

    Skills/Qualifications:

  • A.S. Degree in CADD or Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 5 year related work experience using AutoCAD and/or Solidworks/Inventor
  • Understanding of developing 2D fabrication drawings from Solidworks models
  • Solid background in 2D CAD techniques (knowledge of 3D parametric CAD preferred)
  • Working knowledge of mathematics, trigonometry, and engineering technology
  • Excellent ability to take and apply instruction
  • Attention to detail and consistency
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, computer and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong ability to adapt to change
