Formed in 1986 in Ireland, the E&I Engineering Group manufacture bespoke electrical switchgear and busduct systems for large infrastructure projects which include Data Centers, Banks, Airports, Sports Stadiums etc. In addition to the Irish facility, the Group also has a manufacturing facility in the United Arab Emirates. The Group is setting up a facility in South Carolina (SC) to serve the North American market and are now embarking on a recruitment drive to meet our skills needs within our SC manufacturing facility.

Website Developer/IT Support Officer
Job Function:
This new dual role position will oversee two main job fundamentals. In your responsibility as Website Developer, you will assume sole autonomy for the design, layout, maintenance and updating of the company website and the implementation of “App” based technologies to promote and enhance a positive and modern website visitor experience, for potential and existing customers. As an IT Support Officer you will assist with the monitoring and maintaining of company computer systems and networks including the installation and configuration of computer hardware operating systems and applications.
General Responsibility – Website Development
Expectations:
- Responsibility for the design, layout, programming code, content and continuous development of the company website to promote the E&I Ltd / Powerbar Ltd brand, , range of products and customer online interaction.
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.
- Establish the purpose of the website based upon its target audience.
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our website.
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
- Identify and advise of the type of content the site will / can host.
- Research and advise on the development and implementation of “App” based technologies to support customer contact and buyer experience from order to project completion.
- Stay up to date with emerging IT technologies/industry trends and apply them into our operations and activities.
- Any other duties commensurate with this function.
General Responsibility – IT Support
Expectations:
- Maintain company computer networks and servers - ensuring that they run smoothly.
- Provide daily technical support and advice to computer users.
- Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications including printers and scanners.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
- Assist staff on systems and resolving PC issues.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Replace parts as required including the sourcing and purchasing of hardware and software to meet business need.
- Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
- Set up new users' accounts including PC, PDA and mobile phone technologies.
- Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
- Test and evaluate new technology.
- Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance upgrades.
- Manage stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies.
- Any other duties commensurate with this function.
Requirements
-
2/3 years of proven experience in web design / software programming.

HND / BSc. in IT, computer science, programming, software engineering or other related field.

High level programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML.

Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: C++,PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript.

A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices.

Proven experience with day to day PC and server support, network diagnostics and network analytics.

Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
