Shift Groupleader

Job Requirements and Duties:
Hourly position responsible for the supervision of all production functions within the Signode Special Products business unit. This position will report to the Plant Manager and will directly supervise all plant production personnel associated with their assigned production shift. In this role, the Groupleader will be responsible for crew and production scheduling, inventory management, plant safety, quality tasks, training requirements, and successful implementation of Signode toolbox initiatives. All disciplinary issues such as attendance, work instructions, safety concerns will be coordinated by the Groupleader as well as implementation of personnel matters related to internal job bids and bumps. The position will also make recommendations for staffing and hiring when necessary.
In addition, the Groupleader will be responsible for leading all actions and personnel needed to implement various special projects, continuous improvement functions and safety initiatives. Such tasks will require effective recommendations and implementation of improvements, determining new methods and procedures where appropriate, investigation of accidents and other safety items, and coordination of safety, production and quality meetings.
Groupleader must possess the following skills:

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Computer literate in Microsoft Office

Knowledge of all Signode toolbox items

Ability to work different shifts when needed

Understanding of all production tasks to maintain high customer satisfaction levels and to make the proper recommendations to Plant Engineering when necessary

Previous Groupleader/supervisor experience of 3-5 years

Knowledge of all safety and environmental issues to address and correct

Basic leadership and management skills

Must be flexible in handling a variety of assignments
