Sweet Street Desserts, Inc. is a leader in the gourmet desserts industry, headquartered in Reading, PA. 

The company is now hiring for its satellite operation in Greenville, SC.

Potential employment opportunities exist for:

 

 

Quality and Sanitation Supervisor

 

Purpose: 

 

 

Assure that Sweet Street Desserts products meet the highest quality standards and manage all quality programs.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of plant quality
    • Quality system management, including HACCP plan development and implementation
    • Department budget
    • Supervision of department employees
    • Active participation and teamwork with functions such as production, maintenance, engineering, material control
  • Implement and maintain plant certifications. Serve as point of contact for government officials and/or auditors.
    • USDA
    • SQF
    • Gluten Free (tbd)
    • Others, as required
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of plant sanitation
    • Develop and implement master sanitation schedule for plant
    • Oversee 3rd party contract services relative to sanitation, including chemical supplier, pest control, waste management.
    • Participate in the development of SSOP’s for the plant; maintain final versions after approval
    • Maintain all necessary procedures and documentation required for certifications
    • Supervise sanitation employees

Qualifications:

 

  • Degree in Food Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years in food processing or production environment in a QA role.
  • Management and leadership skills to manage employees and customer/vendor relationships.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of SSD employees.
  • Strong attention for accuracy and detail.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (read, write and converse) in order to receive written and verbal job and safety instructions, comprehend hazardous material labeling, follow production schedule, and prepare graphs, weights and other production reports as required.
