Standard Textile has positions available to support the recently added terry towel manufacturing operation located at 100 Highpoint Drive in Union. Founded in 1940, Standard Textile is a leading global provider of total solutions in the institutional textiles and apparel markets.  The company manufactures textiles for customers in the healthcare, hospitality, decorative products and industrial laundry markets.

Potiential employment opportunties exist for:

Sewing Technician

• Set up and monitor machine operation (includes wear & tear of moving parts)
• Must be experienced with repairing sewing machine heads as well as troubleshooting and repairing all equipment
• Set up, operate and carry out maintenance duties on machinery
• Resolve assembly, production, quality and machine issues to meet production/customer specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations and other support functions
• Give operating instructions to operators based on machine operation observations
• Experience with Safety and Quality Policy compliance and company safety rules/procedures
• Maintain area and equipment that is clean and safe
• Excellent communication, organizational/problem-solving and multi-tasking skills to identify opportunities for improvement and implement promptly
• Document required Safety, Quality and Maintenance information
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Knowledge and skills with industrial sewing equipment required. Previous machine or maintenance technician experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and write English
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions
• Precise attention to detail
• Basic math skills
