Haile Gold Mine - Mine Survey Technician

Responsibilities:

·        Undertake the following production based survey field tasks in a safe and timely manner:

·        Grade control set out and as-built surveys.

·        Blast hole drilling set out and blast extent surveys.

·        Ore block set out.

·        Pit berm and ramp set out and perform periodic checks during construction to ensure compliance with design.

·        Undertake set out and as-built surveys on civil engineering projects including tails dams and road re-alignments

·        Perform geotechnical monitoring surveys to the required accuracy

·        Assist the Senior Mine Surveyor with end of month as built surveys and processing of data.  Use aerial drone surveying

·        Maintain adequate records of all surveys and computations undertaken

·        Undertake Exploration Drillhole set out and as built surveys as directed

Safety - Perform all work and associated functions safely:

·        Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified for particular equipment or tasks and be involved in the development and review/revision of procedures when required.

·        Correctly use all PPE

·        Obey all written and verbal health and safety instructions

·        Establish and maintain the highest possible standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in individual work area and mine site in general

·        Attend pre-shift safety and tool box safety meetings;

·        Complete Stop-Think and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to undertaking tasks;

·        Report all incidents and near misses and workplace hazards;

Requirements:

·        Minimum of High School Diploma

·        Tertiary study in surveying or a related discipline would be an advantage.

·        Full SC Manual Drivers License

·        Previous experience in surveying or within a related field would be an advantage.

·        Be proficient in the use of survey and mining software and able to produce hardcopy plans.(Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, Drone Photogrammetry, Vulcan Surveying
