Under the ownership of Romarco Minerals, Inc., the Haile Gold Mine of Lancaster County will be the industry’s leader in environmentally sound and safe mining operations through applying proven, modern technology and eco-friendly practices that go beyond regulatory requirements.  Haile Gold Mine was one of America’s first operating gold mines.  After acquiring all necessary permits, the next phase of the project is to begin mining processes.

Process Trainer

  

Job Summary:  This position is responsible for ensuring Process Department employees are properly trained, all training materials and systems are current and all documentation is complete and readily accessible.  This is a hands-on position working closely with all levels of employees in training, operations and maintenance activities.  In addition to the above, this individual will assist with ensuring all other compliance documentation is complete and readily accessible in the same manner as the training information. During pre-production ,this individual will operate and maintain the water treatment plant, assist with pre-operation preparations and assist with commissioning/start-up of all process areas 

 

Basic Functions of the Position: 

 

 

 

  • Coordinates training for all process
  • Department employees with a focus on safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Fosters a high performance work environment that encourages employee ownership and participation in safety and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures training materials and systems are current.
  • Ensures training and compliance documentation is complete and readily accessible.
  • Works with all levels of employees as needed to ensure training, operations and maintenance goals are achieved.
  • Assists with scheduling system checks, repairs, housekeeping and environmental compliance activities as needed.
  • Operates equipment and process circuits, as required.
  • Oversees contractors, as required. Performs other duties, as assigned.

 

 

 Essential Requirements

 

 

  • Knowledge of behavior-based safety systems is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of safe work procedures such as lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry and other procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of mineral processing circuits is required.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment is required.
  • Hands on experience troubleshooting, identifying root cause analysis and implementing repairs and improvements to process systems is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of industrial mobile equipment and their safe use is required.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling techniques is required.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement/lean manufacturing systems is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required.
  • Working knowledge of asset management systems including supply chain, planning and scheduling tools is beneficial.
  • Proven commitment to behavior-based safety culture.
  • Must have the ability to obtain an industrial wastewater certification class D license.
  • Requires the ability to knowledgably communicate practical experience and technical details in a training format.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound recommendations and increase efficiency.
  • Must have the ability to prepare complete and concise correspondence and reports.
  • Proven ability to interact in a positive manner with technicians, management and stakeholders is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and supervise projects to completion is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee contractors is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and effectively implement change is required.
  • Ability to act as a relief supervisor is beneficial.  

 

 

 

 

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent or higher education.

(Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirement)

Experience:

At least ten (10 years of industrial plant operating, maintenance and supervisory experience is preferred.

Language Skills:

Must be able to clearly communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Mathematics Ability:

Must be able to perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Reasoning Ability:

Must be able to apply logical and rational thinking to address technical and non-technical issues within the plant and workforce.

Physical Demands:

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 60 pounds) during the course of the workday.
  • Work is in a mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
