Under the ownership of Romarco Minerals, Inc., the Haile Gold Mine of Lancaster County will be the industry’s leader in environmentally sound and safe mining operations through applying proven, modern technology and eco-friendly practices that go beyond regulatory requirements.  Haile Gold Mine was one of America’s first operating gold mines.  After acquiring all necessary permits, the next phase of the project is to begin mining processes.

Mine Maintenance Planner

  

Job Summary:  This position is responsible for assisting with the development of Reliability Centered Maintenance strategy based on preventive and scheduled maintenance of mine mobile equipment fleet.  Works directly with the Mine maintenance Superintendent to build a reliable CMMS (Computer Management Maintenance System) system.  Works closely with the Mine Maintenance buyer and the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) supervisor

 

Basic Functions of the Position: 

  • Approach all aspects of the work being performed with safety and the environment as the highest priorities.
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective planning and scheduling of all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Maintain equipment information and repair files.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance jobs and projects.
  • Write work scopes for standard jobs to include tools, manpower, and materials required to complete jobs.
  • Perform work order opening and closing for maintenance, repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Work directly with production personnel to schedule repairs and maintenance of mine mobile equipment to minimize down time.
  • Manage the status of work control and backlog for work order submission to work order completion. 
  • Status may include waiting for planning, waiting for parts, waiting for labor, waiting for shop space, ready to schedule, scheduled, etc.
  • Verify all material, information, tools, and labor are available prior to scheduling.
  • Actively participate in scheduling meetings with operations department to finalize priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times. 

 

 Requirements

  • Leadership skills

  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and use maintenance library for repairs
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, parts manuals, documents and drawings
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with maintenance software to input data and research parts
  • Familiar with MSHA regulations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
  • Minimum one year experience as a maintenance planner or coordinator
  • Must possess the ability to apply common sense or logic to a problem solving solution
  • Acts in a manner that builds trust and demonstrates integrity
  • Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with others
  • Promotes high levels of accountability and employee empowerment
  • Committed to continuously improving the safety and efficiency in the department
  • Acts with a sense of urgency when troubleshooting and resolving problems
  • Team building skills

 

Physical Demands:

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.
  • Work is in a mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
