Haile Gold Mine
Under the ownership of Romarco Minerals, Inc., the Haile Gold Mine of Lancaster County will be the industry’s leader in environmentally sound and safe mining operations through applying proven, modern technology and eco-friendly practices that go beyond regulatory requirements. Haile Gold Mine was one of America’s first operating gold mines. After acquiring all necessary permits, the next phase of the project is to begin mining processes.

Buyer
Job Summary: This position reports to Mine or Process Maintenance but is accountable to the site Controller. Key responsibilities are to provide purchasing support to the Mine or Process Maintenance Departments by ensuring adequate parts are on hand to perform the key maintenance functions. This position will support the Operating Groups too. The Buyer is accountable for ensuring the company receives the best value for all purchases.
Basic Functions of the Position:

Track purchases and expedite

Ability to write contracts

Negotiate contract terms

Import/export logistics knowledge

Work with maintenance planners to establish warehouse stock minimums and maximums

Comply with companies purchasing and authorization procedures

Internal and external safety advocate
Requirements

Basic computer skills

High school diploma or equivalent Three (3) years purchasing experience in a related field Dealing with regulatory entities

Must possess the ability to apply common sense or logic to a problem solving solution

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.

Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 60 pounds) during the course of the workday.

Work is in a mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
