readySC™ , Tri-County Technical College and First Quality Tissue® have partnered to conduct a special training program for employment opportunities which will exist at First Quality's Anderson, SC plant.  Training applications are currently being accepted for the following positions:

Utilities Technician

Purpose and role of job:   Assist the Utilities Lead technician in the operation and maintenance of the site’s utility area.  These areas include the boilers, water, waste water environmental controls, air compressors, and chiller systems. 

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• Minimum of two years industrial experience or equivalent. 
• Standard understanding of utility operations and ability to run all equipment. 
• Standard mechanical and process aptitude.
• Ability to use heavy equipment in sludge handling operations.
• Ability to use high lifts for elevated work.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools to perform preventative maintenance. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
• Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Tobacco/drug-free work environment.
• Pre-employment drug screen is required.
• Training will be held at no charge to trainees.
• Classes will be held during morning and/or evening hours at Tri-County Technical College
• Successful completion of the training program carries no obligation to accept an offer of employment, nor is an offer guaranteed. 

Work Environment:

Must be able to work:  

• In wet, hot, and cold environments inside and outside the facility
• In ear, eye, and foot protection areas
• Under pressure of deadlines and manage moderate levels of stress
