Continental Tire - Material Handler

Minimum qualifications required:

• High school diploma or (GED) and 6 months warehouse or relevant military experience
• Extreme physical demands (Must be able to load and unload 30 lb. tires for extened periods of time in a non-climate controlled environment)
• Willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts, working days and nights
• Able to work in a fast pace environment
• Good communication skills, read and understand specifications, and follow instructions  

Preferred qualifications:

•  Forklift driving experience a plus

Core Responsibilities:

• Read and understand written and oral instructions
• Prepare shipments by picking orders, applying proper labels, inspecting for accuracy and quality, and by loading trailers per company and customer specifications
• Receive, store, and/or deliver incoming materials to the required destination Input data via computer and/or hand held scanner into the inventory management system
• Support inventory accuracy through daily operations, cycle counting, and physical inventory
• Drive forklifts and operate other material handling/bundling equipment with up to 25’ lifting capacity (if necessary); responsible for the proper care and safe operation of the material handling equipment
• Communicate with other inbound and outbound operators, production operators, and supervisors
• Follow standard practices and perform all work promptly and accurately, obtaining quality and quantity objectives
• Demonstrate the characteristics of 5S to keep work areas neat, clean, aligned, and orderly
• Follow all plant policies, environmental policies, and plant and departmental safety policies 
• Perform other duties as directed by the shift leaders or warehouse management
