To plan, organize, and direct assigned parks and grounds maintenance activities within the Parks and Grounds Maintenance Division of the Facilities Services Department; to coordinate assigned activities with other divisions or departments; and to provide highly responsibility technical support to the Parks and Grounds Superintendent.
The Senior Supervisor level recognizes positions that provide full second-line, direct supervision to employees within a work section and/or assumes substantive and significant programmatic responsibility in a defined area or specialty.
Receives general direction from the Parks and Grounds Superintendent or management and supervisory staff.
Exercises direct supervision over assigned supervisory personnel.

Experience and Training
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience in groundskeeping or park maintenance, including two years of supervisory responsibility.
Training: Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college with major course work in arboriculture, horticulture, forestry, park management or a related field.
