The Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) is a government agency providing services to other Oklahoma government agencies. The Information Services Division (ISD) is seeking three full-time Senior Project Managers for our Oklahoma City location. This is an unclassified position within Oklahoma state government.  OMES offers a comprehensive Benefits Packet  and a salary up to $80,000 based on education and experience.  This position may be filled as a Junior Project Manager.

Daily Activities:

This position will provide project management support to state agencies. This position must have a working knowledge of Project Management and customer service management.  The candidate must possess a basic understanding of  Internet, e-mail systems, security, and data communications; standard operating systems, software packages, and software utilities; and proper records maintenance and storage methods for local and distributed environments.

• Ensures projects are completed according to agency specifications and are properly documented.

• Assigns duties, responsibilities, and spans of authority to project personnel.

• Serves as a liaison between stakeholders, business, and technical aspects of projects.

• Plans project stages and assesses business implications for each stage. Monitors progress to ensure deadlines and standards are met.

• Develops and manages work breakdown structure for projects. Develops or updates project plans for projects including information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.

• Manages project execution to ensure adherence to schedule and scope. Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

• Facilitates communication upward and across project team including project status, justifications for variances and technical information.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position requires supervisory responsibilities leading teams and team members. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or other related technical degree and five years of project management experience.   A master’s degree may be substituted for two years of experience or two years of experience may be substituted for each year of a degree up to a maximum of eight years.

PMP certification is preferred.

For a Junior Project Manager, requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or other related technical degree and two years of IT experience.  A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience or two years of experience may be substituted for each year of a degree up to a maximum of eight years.
