The Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) is seeking a full-time Energy Manager to support the Statewide Facilities Energy Program. This announcement intends to fill multiple positions located through the State of Oklahoma. This is an unclassified position within Oklahoma state government. •Implement a program to promote energy conservation through positive feedback to all levels of the agency and involve all personnel in taking ownership for success of program.
•Coordinate with agency leaders to change or establish agency policies impacting energy consumption.
•Advise, assist and make recommendations to the Director of the State Energy Program energy consumption, conservation measures, and alternate energy sources.
•Provide input on contractual support activities (capital projects) related to energy management and the purchase of any products that affect energy consumption.
•Maintain all energy and water consumption records and data. Maintain records of federal energy conservation grants received by the agency.
•Assess agency’s current operations and maintenance practices and identify needs for new procedures or further education for the relevant staff.
•Provide regular communication with facility coordinators, maintenance, and custodial staffs as to status of their buildings' energy consumption.
•Report to the Director of the State Energy Program any safety hazards observed.
•Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair, making notes and recommendations
•Conduct regular 'walk through' audits of all the agency’s facilities to ensure operating efficiency, optimum building environment and compliance with energy guidelines. Report findings in accordance with State Energy Program procedures.
•Work with facilities scheduling personnel (meeting rooms, conference space, etc.) to ensure proper space utilization consistent with energy conservation.
•Be responsible for the implementation of weekday, weekend, holiday, and summer shutdown checklists for agency buildings under his/her purview.
•Coordinate with maintenance personnel on installation and/or repairs of energy management systems.
•Assist with the support of the programming for computerized energy management system to insure operating efficiency.
•Develop and maintain contact with federal and state agencies and monitor state and national energy policy trends.
•Ensure that future equipment upgrades or other projects are documented in compliance with the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
High school diploma and five years of experience in facilities management, energy conservation, technical communication, or a related field.
A Bachelors degree and 3 years of experience in a related field.
