WILDFIRE PROTECTION/VEGETATION MANAGEMENT BATTALION CHIEF

During the next several years, a key focus of the Marin County Fire Department will be the identification and prioritization of community wildfire risk reduction projects, updating the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) and unit fire plan. With a key leadership role, the Wildfire Protection/Vegetation Management Battalion Chief will be expected to support the team of Chief Officers in spearheading change management and developing needs assessments for their respective area of responsibility. Working collaboratively and developing synergistic relationships with key stakeholders including Open Space, National Park Service, State Parks, other Fire Agencies and community groups is of critical importance. Health & Human Services Project Coordinator

for the Aging Action Initiative of Marin County

Marin County is home to a burgeoning number of older adults who will need additional services and supports as they age.  Use your facilitation, leadership, and organizational skills to develop Marin County's action agenda for Marin County's seniors.

Under direction of the Office of Aging and Adult Services, the position will provide coordination, facilitation, and support to work groups established under the Aging Action Initiative to plan, create consensus, and move toward successful completion of the work group objectives.  This would include recruitment of work group members, creating schedules and attending work group meetings, coordinating data-gathering and research, and providing guidance to ensure that objectives are being met in a timely manner, and producing updates and reports and providing research and evaluation assistance.

This is a part-time position (48 hours bi-weekly) and is anticipated to last one year.

Compensation: $33.84-$41.08 per hour depending on experience.

EXTRA HIRE OPPORTUNITY

Communications and Public Administration Intern

The Marin County Administrator's Office (CAO) is looking for a student in the process of completing or having recently earned a degree in communications, public relations, English, public or business administration, public policy or a related field of study for a 6- to 12-month paid internship.  The CAO oversees countywide communication, prepares and monitors the county budget, and supports the legislative function of the Board of Supervisors. The ideal intern has superior verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of social media platforms, innovative thinking, time management skills, proficiency with MS Office Suite, and ability to learn new software programs quickly. Basic knowledge of video editing, Photoshop, Adobe Suite, HTML and Google Analytics are also desired.  Hours: up to 30 a week.  Compensation: $12 - $16 per hour, depending on experience.

Detention Nurse Adult or Family Practitioner

Marin County Jail

 Please note this position works with adult incarcerated inmates and may work eight (8) up to thirty-two (32) hours per week depending on staffing needs. 

The work week is Monday through Friday and the shift is typically 8 am to 4 pm. 

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: Successful applicants will be subject to a thorough and rigorous background investigation which may include, but is not limited to, a criminal records check, interviews with friends, relatives, neighbors and employers verification of DMV records and overall employment and education history.  An applicant may be disqualified for past criminal convictions, poor driving record, providing false background information, and other reasons.

DRUG USE STANDARDS:  No use of any illegal drug in the past three years. No felony drug use (e.g. cocaine, amphetamines, etc.)  in the past five years.  No hallucinogenics ever.  No intravenous drug use or drug sales ever. Applicants successful in testing will be given a polygraph examination and/or computerized voice stress analysis and will be asked about illegal drug use.
