Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this position exists is to ensure the accurate collection of fees for services rendered by the Probate Office.  This position differs from the Customer Service Representative in that the Assistant Tag and License Supervisor serves as a technical advisor to Customer Service Representative employees.  The Assistant Tag and License Supervisor differ from the Tag and License Supervisor in that the latter is responsible for the overall management of the probate sub-station.  The essential functions of this position are: manages the floor operations of the probate office; serves as a lead worker to employees; performs administrative duties; performs customer service duties; processes and/or supervises the preparation of weekly/bi-weekly payroll; in the absence of the Tag and License Supervisor, performs various administrative related tasks.  Incumbents are directly supervised by Tag and License Supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a High school diploma or G.E.D. and two (2) years of probate office operations experience which includes tag, license, and title office experience.

Kind of Examination

Applications are being accepted to fill one (1) vacancy and any vacancies that may occur during the life of the register. The current vacancy is with the Montgomery County Probate Office. Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application and attached supplemental questionnaire. For this reason, applicants are urged to fill in the application form and the supplemental questionnaire completely providing detailed information concerning the kinds of jobs they have held, the dates they held them, where and exactly what their duties were. If more than five qualified applications are received, the supplemental questionnaire will be used to rank applicants. Tied scores will not be broken (in accordance with Personnel Rules and Regulations, Rule VII, Section 3). Applicants will be placed in groups based on their qualifications indicated on the supplemental questionnaire. Applicants within each group will be considered equally qualified and placed on the register in alphabetical order.  If there are five or less qualified applicants, they will be considered equally qualified and placed on the register in alphabetical order.
