Nature of Work

Assists with the general operation of the Community Center to include: monitoring and coordinating the indoor and outdoor activities of children and senior citizens such as crafts, field trips, games, and other activities, responding to questions and inquiries from patrons or visitors and reporting maintenance problems following established guidelines and rules and regulations of Montgomery County Recreation Division; performs routine custodial duties inside and outside the Community Center facility using disinfectants and other cleaning agents and equipment to include a mop and bucket, empties trash containers to keep facility in clean and orderly conditions for daily and rental use; keeps simple records of monies received and supplies ordered to maintain an accurate record of monies collected from concession sales and to maintain a record of supplies in stock and distributes copies of renal applications for rental request of facility and coordinates and acts as chaperone for activities during the summer months at various sites in Montgomery County, at City facilities and field trips to provide a variety of programs and activities for children to include swimming, skating, river boat rides, contests, badminton, and tennis.

Minimum Qualifications

Persons interested in the Education and/or the Recreation field are desirable.  Must have a certification in Water Safety Instruction to teach swimming during the summer months.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
