Nature of Work

This is professional curatorial work acquiring temporary exhibitions for the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and serving as project manager and curator for approximately one third of the temporary and special: exhibitions at the museum each year. Work also involves interpretive research and documentation of works of art in support of the exhibitions program of the museum. Supervision is received from the Curator of Paintings and Sculpture and Museum Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Art History, and/or Museum Studies. One year related experience as a museum intern, gallery or curatorial assistant. Specialization in contemporary art and/or recently published scholarship in the field of art history/criticism preferred.   Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
