Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to teach and supervise tennis programs for individuals of all ages and assist in the daily operation of the tennis shops.  Work involves responsibility for program design, planning and the conduct of classes and activities. 

The essential functions are: plans, organizes and conducts tennis classes for individuals and groups; organizes and run both junior and adult tournaments; and assists in the daily operation of the tennis shop.  Work is performed under the direction of Tennis Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

USPTA or USPTR *certification.  Minimum of six months of experience teaching tennis.  CPR and standard first aid certification or ability to obtain with 90 days of employment.  *Certification as a tennis professional by the United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) through the successful completion of five tests (written, skills, teaching, drills and error detection).

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered. 


Special Requirements

Work will include nights, weekends and holidays.   Physical ability to walk, lift and climb.   Will work in an outside environment resulting in daily exposure to the weather.
