Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this job exists is to oversee work crews performing street maintenance and construction projects. This is responsible skilled work supervising crews engaged in skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance and repair activities. Employees in this class are responsible for assisting in the overall supervision of several crews or in the independent supervision of a large crew performing street construction. This position reports to the Street Construction Superintendent.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have five (5) years of experience in the maintenance, repair and construction of streets, to include asphalt work, earth work and grading including two (2) years’ experience supervising crews in the construction, maintenance and repair of streets, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Special Requirements
Must be able to work overtime, weekends and be on-call 24 hours as needed for special projects and for emergencies situations.
