The fundamental reason this job exists is to oversee tree and fence maintenance work crews.  This is responsible skilled work supervising crews engaged in skilled and semi-skilled tree trimming, clearing, fence construction, reparation, and maintenance activities.  The work responsibilities are: supervises and directs work crews, estimates project costs, answers citizen complaints, performs tree and fence maintenance duties, and performs administrative duties. This classification reports directly to the Street Construction Superintendent.

Must have four (4) years of experience in trimming trees or other maintenance work including one (1) year of experience as a foreman, lead worker or in a leadership capacity directing a tree maintenance crew or other equipment or maintenance crew.  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Must be able to work overtime, weekends and be on-call 24 hours as needed for special projects and for emergency situations. Must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license.
