Nature of Work

This is supervisory and administrative work assisting in the operation and management of an airport.  Primary responsibilities include supervision of airport employees and coordination of major maintenance and improvement projects, reviewing all revenue and expenditures, and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations pertaining to commercial airport management, safety and security. This position assumes responsibilities of the Director in his/her absence. The Deputy Airport Director is provided with general supervision and reports to the Airport Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Social Sciences or related field and five (5) years of airport management (airside and landside) experience to include grounds and building maintenance, and airfield operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

 


Special Requirements

Must submit to a 5-year employment background check to satisfy Federal Aviation Administration requirements.
